Last summer, Sliced Design launched a website for my church for the various concerts they promote. It was a different kind of project, as I had final say in my design process. We were back at it again for GENESIS Church, this time with a new website for the church itself. We had a soft launch back in January and now after finalizing some testing and adding in some additional features, we are officially launched!
What originally started as a young adult Bible study, GENESIS is now an Acts 29 Network church plant based in Woburn, MA. GENESIS was launched in September 2009 and has been growing ever since.
So why the change in the website now? As GENESIS has grown, the existing website didn’t quite reflect the changes in the community. They wanted a site that more reflective of who they are and make it easier to make updates to the website.
The process? We started with some good planning, figuring out what we wanted to be able to do now, and what we wanted to be able to do in the future. Next, we got creative and mocked up a killer design, highlighting images and videos. From there, the site was built and fresh content added.
GENESIS has been thrilled with the new website. We took their old WordPress powered site and injected some new life into it with a more powerful sermon browser, image slideshows, and better content management, all courtesy of Aptuitiv Studio.
